Plyometrics

Plyometrics is the least well-known training system in this world. Why? Because this training system is new. Really new indeed. The term “Plyometrics”  was first use in the late 60’s. Even when I typed this word, the computer didn’t recognized it. Before that, they were called the “jump training” by the Russian and this training was their secret formula for the success of their high jump and triple jump athletes. Although it have been 40 years, not many coaches and athletes practice it as a crucial part of their conditioning program. But, this training is really good for sports that involve explosiveness. For instance, sprinting, weight lifting, skiing, football, squashy, etc etc. This includes parkour and freerunning. Thanks to Cat for introducing this training to me. As you can see, the diagram shows a Plyometrics book by Human Kinetics. This is the book that i bought from Kinokuniya KLCC last year for a full fat 70 bucks and its really worth it. So now, all I have to do is finding a way to include it in my conditioning program.

Handstand Progression

Perfecting my handstand is one of my parkour goal for this year. My handstand is almost perfect, ALMOST. But still needs a little more training. Then, I saw a new video upload from Strength Project by Bboy Tales. Man! He’s skinny but his handstand is really good. The key ingredient that I’m missing is the elbow lock. By locking the elbow, the handstand is easier to balance and control. Hell, I need to train this every day. It’s nearly November and I need to accomplished my goal if I want to become a good traceur in short period of time. Approximately four to five years to come. So, this is the video that I’m talking about. Enjoy!

The Power of Analgesic

I don’t know what happen to my body today. I started the morning with 2 lap jog as a warm up. After the I’ve completed the second lap, my abs was in agony. I can barely walk home. So, I was thinking to myself, how the heck I’m going to continue my weekend workout session? I’ve reached home and quickly searched my parkour bag to find something that will cure the pain, the Counterpain balm. I squeezed the tube, then rubbed it to my abs and voila! The pain is totally gone and I can carry on with my workout session thanks to the little squeeze from the analgesic balm.

Definition of Manhood

When I watch this vid earlier, I was shock, REALLY SHOCK. I never saw someone who after the huge “bail” that nearly kill him, still want to do it for second time just to prove that sometimes in life, you have to leave your fear behind and try again. This video is truly inspiring to all parkour practitioner.  True man will try to conquer his fear rather than back down from it. It defines manhood, and this man play a hard ball to obtain his freedom.
